Remington Split Breech Rifles

Some of you who know me well know that I have sort of changed my collection habits from bolt action Mausers to straight pull bolt action rifles and single shot breech loading rifles from the antique era. I have a particular love for the Remington Rolling Block rifles. The nice thing about collecting single shot breech loading rifles (and rolling blocks in particular) is that they are fairly rare even though they were made in large numbers for most models. But do not command super high collector prices unless you find a perfect example and/or a rare model. Another upside is that some fire cartridges that you can still buy at the LGS. Another nice thing is that some fire obsolete cartridges that you can reload for. The down side would be that some fire obsolete cartridges that are literally impossible to reload for. Making them for collecting only. I prefer models I can still shoot. While I am still learning about rolling blocks I found this video for the Remington Split Breech Rifle which is the predecessor to the rolling block.
