Hey guys, I am looking for any news story's about dog or wild pig attacks in Hawaii.
I am especially interested in stories from the Big island.
If there is any crazzy news storys you know of from the mainland that might be useful also but we really need HAWAII based info.

Blog posts or news articles are needed. This is in relation to Hawaii Firearm Coalitions brief being filled for young.

Thanks

In 2003 my friend was walking to school when a pit bull rush him and ripped his leg open had to get stitches and parents took them to court. My friend only live right down the road from the house were he got attcked. the court made the dog get put down
Oh ignorant youth, the world is not a joyous place. The time has come for you to dispense with the frivolous pleasures of childhood and get down to honest toil until you are sixty-five. Then and only then can you relax and collect your social security and live happily until the time of your death!

How about attacks by feral people off the grid?
Go back a few years to a rape of hikers in Kahana valley, attacks on campers in Kona(Makalawena), and Polihale beach on Kauai.
Those come to mind immediately. I am sure a little homework will find others.
Feral dogs, uncontrolled hunting dogs and pigs are an issue also.
We are forced by law to be unarmed in these situations.
A quick trip to google covers the Attack at Makalawena and how long it took for the police to respond.
Polihale seems to be a regular with several incidents mentioned. Again it is not a short response time kind of place.

I live on the big island and I hunt here.
I don't recall too many stories on wild pig or dog attacks.
anecdotally if you are out hunting,  the rule is if you see a dog without a collar
you kill it.  Nobody will say anything to you.
We have lots of domesticated and wild animals dogs, cats, pigs, cattle, horses, et al.
It is generally easy to the difference between a wild and a domesticated one.
Except with people, and here even with the Young decision,
the police that are two hours away won't allow you the right to defend yourself.
God given rights and Hawaii law are an oxymoron.
