Getting the gun stores to help out is going a lot better than expected.  Please go to our partners to sign the petition and thank them for helping in the fight for gun rights.   I'm still working on the remainder of stores here, then I'll get to the Big Island and Kauai.

PARTNERS:
Maui Ammo and Gun Supply
Danger Close Tactical
Gun Source
J. Hara (Kaimuki)
Young Guns
Prime Sports
Hawaii Gun SHop
Kaneohe Gun SHop

620 signatures so far, not counting those at the gun stores.  Keep up the good work.  Thanks to the volunteers who helped collect signatures at the range and at their workplaces.

You can download the petition at http://hifico.org/petition-drive-2018/.  Get the form filled out and take a camera pic to email to us.

Adding more partner stores to the list:
Hawaii Tactical Outfitter
Security Equipment Corp
Stuebs' Guns & Ammo
J. Hara Store (Kurtistown)
S. Tokunaga Store

Just 5 more gun stores to go and all of Hawaii's gun shops will be united in the fight for 2a gun rights.

More stores across the state are helping out.  Just a few more to go.  We'll be better prepared to fend off antiguan legislation next year.

Windward Gun Shop at Sand Island  Friendly service with firearms and lots of reloading supplies and accessories.

Stuebs in Hilo  Near the airport with lots of hunting and tactical rifles, handguns, and reloading supplies.

J Hara in Kurtistown, just outside of Hilo.  Longtime store serving the east side with firearms and hunting supplies, reloading, fishing, and archery equipment.

S Tokunaga Store in Hilo.  Great selection of firearms, reloading components, fishing, diving, and archery supplies.

Visiting Hilo this week to see the gun stores and making connections.

I went to the Mile Marker 16 (Morita Camp) Range on Saddle Road.  From Hilo travel west on Saddle Road for about 25 minutes until you see the green Mile 16 sign then go about 100 yards past and turn right onto a dirt road.  You should have a truck or SUV because it's crushed lava rocks and cinder with bumps and ruts.  You need a Hawaii hunting license and bring your own targets/frames out because there's none there.  There are two bays about 50 yards long.  It's a clearing in the Ohia forest with lava rock.  One bay has a cinder backstop, the other doesnt.

I met with Ryan Kohatsu who is a member of the State Game Management Advisory Committee(GMAC) committee and Kean who is with the county GMAC. They are a new committee formed by the legislature and appointed by the Governor to work with the DLNR to represent hunting interests.  Their main problem is the erradication of game animals on the island.  DLNR is performing aerial hunting of goats, sheep, and pigs to eradicate them, leaving the carcass to rot for the sake of environmentalism.  This leaves nothing for hunters to hunt.  Ryan says hunters and environmentalists can work together to identify areas of land where eradication is needed to protect endangered species and the environment while preserving hunting lands where there is no threat.  He is also working to promote building a public range by Pohakuloa and improving the existing Mile Marker 16 range.  Ryan needs the help of all hunters and firearms enthusiest in the State to help with these issues.

And a beautiful shot of the great weather in Hilo.  I guess everyone's getting rained on back in Honolulu.

Also met Punaperson for the first time.  Found that we had a lot in common and he's very dedicated to the cause.  Look forward to working with him on gun rights issues in the future.
