Unlocked Samsung phone questions
« on: May 01, 2019, 01:21:33 AM »
Anyone have an unlocked phone, particularly the Galaxy A50?

Is it hard to make it work with the local carriers? I have AT&T.

Don't feel like paying a bazillion dollars for a new phone direct from them, and don't feel like having it packed with a bazillion apps that I will never use that sell my data.

Any experience?

No. But I'm wary of "bundle" deals in general already.

Had a huge fight with AT&T over my plan, how they keep changing things over the years, raising price, decreasing service. Got that all straightened out.

Just needing to upgrade hardware before this one craps out.

Update:

Ordered an Unlocked Galaxy A50 from Amazon, plugged in the SIM card, used Samsung's transfer app to wirelessly transfer all the data from old phone to new one.  Had everything set up with no sweat.  Technology is so good these days!

Make sure you also backup your phone.  And save your pics and contacts to your computer and another media, I use a flash drive and an external drive.  Redundancy, is not if but when they will fail.
