Got to see the president of Taiwan

Very interesting to see the detail operate. Was about 20 feet from her. IDK if the people like her or not.

Entered hotel and there were barriers, but no metal detectors, wanding, or pat downs. Just walk right in. Lots of cops outside and her detail. No vehicle searches either.

Being only 20 feet from her, i was carrying my jacket and a 2.5ft long umbrella. Again no pat down or screening prior.

In hotel, she was set up to give a speech. Her detail was facing her the entire time and  not the crowd. See pic below. Not even scanning.

Detail/advance team were half female. I figured prior to knowing who's coming, it had to be a female.

Most were mid 20s and had bodycams. Females weren't dyke looking, but petite and pretty. Not sure they would be able to fireman carry anyone if needed. Like 5"2, 95lbs.  Looks like they would work at a Chinese bakery like St. Germaine.

No dogs or anyone in kits/rifles.

No sun glasses

Once her speech was done, everyone was gone in minutes. Detail, cops, media, etc...like a ghost town.

Tin foil moment. Had this pretty woman in short skirt stand next to me. Short skirts are not common. She placed her coffee on the shelf next to me and left. In Taiwan, you dont see empty drink cups around. I was talking to mrs. CMO at the time. Listening device in coffee cup?

Taiwan probably isnt an aloha snackbar target. And no one is dumb enough to try anything. You have no rights here, so if caught, torture until you give up names and if u die, u die.  Or life in jail, no trial.

So their armored car guys also do not carry any firearms, but a collapsible baton.  They also wear Kevlar.

Since they're unarmed, I would rather wear a football or hockey helmet that protects the face from a punch.

So my anti 2a father said her detail sucks because there are no guns in Taiwan.  But just the opposite.  I would say her detail is laxed due to the culture and penalty for trying anything.

Don't speak Mandarin, but I would have been close enough to ask.  All while holding my unchecked umbrella and jacket.
