I see these guys all the time.

My Bil and other family did the duty.

First question I get asked is " do you want  to hurt yourself or somebody?"
The entire problem is Democrats.
That is all I'm going to say.

I don't understand your comment in relation to the news story.  Democrats and asking if you want to hurt yourself or anyone else?

Legendary corruption and mis management in the VA. They threaten to take away guns for seeking psychological help. They never met a war they didn’t like, especially when their Lil Baby Hunter Biden’s can stay home can profit off the conflicts in order to feed their cocaine and preeteen sexual assault habits.

Then when a journalist reports on it they lock them up and torture them, even violating international law to do so.

One day, they'll figure out that, not only are we as a nation having to cope with more soldiers coming home with physical injuries -- injuries that would have killed them in past conflicts --  but thanks to improvements in medical technology, protective gear and training, we also have more GIs returning home with mental trauma than ever before.

I just looked at the totals for US casualties in military conflicts.

Here's what the Middle  East wars have done:

Gulf War 1990-1991:  13% killed, 74% wounded

Afghanistan 2001-Present:  8% killed, 90% wounded

Iraq War 2003-2011:  10% killed, 88% wounded.

Of course, the raw totals for WWI & WWII are almost 6 times the combined casualties of the ME wars, butt that's expected when the total casualty rates are much lower now. Fewer replacements are needed.

And the numbers killed in the above percentages are combat deaths only.  The number of "other" deaths are higher than combat-related deaths in all wars.

That's compared to WWI & WWII, 72% of casualties came back wounded.  26% were killed in combat during WWI, and 22% during WWII.

So maybe 7 in 10 used to return home, but now it's closer to 9 in 10.

So sad for those who served their country and struggles to re-enter society after all the nightmares of the conflict.

The casualties of war is not limited to a body bag coming home. :(

Respect and Honor to those who served and to those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

I read a good book called "On Killing" that covered a lot of the effects of what goes into PTSD and training to get officers to overcome their natural resistance to killing. It is a very interesting read and depressing in a way because making soldiers that are more combat effective also ends up increasing the trauma they end up suffering. It did cover some newer findings and ways to improve the healing though so it wasn't all bad news.
