Good read, I'm about to be in the market for a small an large gun safe... marking those off the list.

costco has remington models, not sure who makes them
i got the one from lowe's
they have a smaller rifle one and a bigger rifle one
i have a personal preference for the rotary locks
just scared of something happening to the electronic ones
not from any experience or stories, but just because

With regards to bouncing the solenoid, I'm wondering if that could be done with a sledge to the top (say if they were bolted down)?  With the others, damn............just too easy to open.

My stack on is locked with a key so opening it by accident isn't easy.  The key itself is locked up too in a key safe that's at 6 feet high.  Each gun has a trigger lock as well.

Those safes shown are bottom dwellers, definitely not high quality stuff.

AmSec is fine, Fort Knox, etc.  I think the saying you get what you pay for is usually true with regards to true safes, and the saying bigger is better is usually true in this instance too.

^^^Safes should always be bolted down too.  Anyone can just pick those up and leave with them.  Bust them later.

I never liked the idea of an electronic safe. What if the battery dies? Guess I didn't need to worry. Just give it a good Fonzie whack and it'll pop right open.

Supposedly the face pops off and you replace the battery (on the larger standup safes anyway).

Same.  Electronic safes are horrible.

They do pop off.  That's what makes them horrible.  The face/combination key pad pops off and is connected to what actually unlocks the bolts with tiny wires.  If those wires were to get cut/ripped off for whatever reason, you're screwed.  You'll need to get your safe drilled open.
