Well, if you want a more legitimate response, I've never understood why the 1911 style trigger isn't used on more handguns. If I were designing a new semi-auto handgun, it would have a 1911 trigger, and the barrel would be closer to the hand, with all the parts that traditionally move it up (recoil spring, op rod, whatnot) either beside or above the barrel to reduce muzzle rise. It would be truly modular, none of this add-a-shim-of-plastic-to-the-grip crap, but have genuinely interchangeable major components. The one receiver would be able to support dozens of different calibers, barrels, grips and accessories, all drop-in and not needing a gunsmith It would eject straight down. It would be engineered to operate under adverse conditions, not requiring cleanliness or proper lubrication. And it would be made, as far as possible, from carbon nanotubes.
