What would be a good powder to reload 9mm and 5.56? There’s so many to choose from

I use CFEPistol for both 9mm and .45ACP
I've heard good things about CFE223 for rifle

My opinion get proficient at loading pistol rounds first. There is allot more involved in the case prep

Most people have said their go to powder is Titegroup. I have yet to use CFE.

My go to powders for pistol is Titegroup, Unique and Bullseye. But I am phasing out my use of Bullseye because it smokes a lot and is dirtier than I like. It is just me getting tired of all the smoke at my indoor range. It ha always been like that. Same for Unique many years ago. But recently Unique has been reformulated to smoke less and be a little less dirty. But it is still one of the most universal powders you can use. Those are my favs.

However, I was able to score 2 pounds of CFE Pistol recently. I have started testing it in a new for me cartridge, the .380 ACP. In the .380 cartridge CFE Pistol offers a little higher velocity with little to no extra pressure in this cartridge over Titegroup. So far it is clean burning and smokes very little. I have not tried Titegroup in .380 yet. And I have not tried CFE Pistol in 9mm yet. So I have nothing to compare yet. We’ll have see how my testing goes.

In the mneantime I have remnants of Bullseye, Red Dot and Green Dot I want to use up before I get to testing CFE Pistol more. There are so many great pistol powders out there to try. i would say in this day and age of shortages to buy what you find and work up loads for them and until other powders become available. I am a big fan of Hodgdon and Alliant powders but have good luck with pretty much all the different brands.

Just loaded some speer gold dots with cfe last night. They should be similar to hpd service ammo.
Heading out to khsc later today to chronograph them.
I'll probably be out there all afternoon if anybody wants to run their ammo over the screens.
Send a pm if you want to test something.
...
Also going to run some 45auto if I can stop watching the TV.
Will use 200 lswc and vectan BA 10 for a medium load.

Depends on weight of bullet for .223. 52-60 gr I prefer Win748. Anything over that I prefer RL15, Varget, AR COMP.
