Rifle Cardio
« on: October 28, 2022, 09:10:02 PM »

Get comfortable with your rifle and work on your cardio.  This is a good workout for a someone that doesn’t have a lot of time (Almost Every working adult in Hawaii).  I’m tired of seeing gun enthusiast who waste there time on equipment but don’t bother to run or workout.  I understand we don’t have time and whatever but start thinking like a minuteman or infantryman if you really bleed red, white and blue.  You are a liability if physical fitness is not at the forefront of your values as a man and an instinctive protector. It also doesn’t make sense that most of the post in the health and fitness section is not physical fitness related.  So, I hope to spark some insight in some of you to be a true patriot and I hope I don’t come off as too rash to our 2a community in my home state.  Hawaii needs more minutemen!!!

I watched an event where there were 2 guys about the same age of 50's. 1 guy does cross fit and the other doesn't do any exercise and is fat.

The event consisted of some running in a maze type corridor and shotguns.

After the stage was done the crossfit guy wasn't even breathing hard.  Compared to the other guy who was huffing and puffing and all gassed out.  Both completed the stage, but had there been a longer one or right away a need to "get back into the fight", the fat guy would be at a huge disadvantage.

In general, being fat isn't good for your health.  1 doesn't have to be in super good shape, but at least decent shape.  And time is not an excuse.  Go run 1 or 2 miles.  1 mile should take less than 10 mins for the out of shape person (slow jog).  For someone who is in shape, they can do it in 8.  And if you wanted to go balls to the walls, prob under 7 mins is easy.  So then add in 2 miles, that's about 20-25 mins for someone out of shape and in better shape 15 mins.  See where I'm going with this for those who use time as an excuse.

Thanks for posting this, OP.  :shaka:

Agree that it doesn't hurt to keep oneself fit.  Everyone is different physically and with age but the notion of keeping in shape as much as possible is solid.

I'm a senior and have been retired for 3 years.  My job was very physical so after I retired I refused to let myself get soft.

So I workout at home.  Includes light weights and pushups, situps, and flexibility exercises.

Can't run like I used to since my knees are shot to hell.  But I do cardio on the elliptical to keep my heart pumping.

So yeah, C'MON EVERYBODY!  Let's keep in shape (and buy more pew pews and boom booms)!!
Sometimes you gotta know when to save your bullets.
