Sorry it took soo long to post up.  I picked this up for about $5 at Wal-Mart.  IMHO, not worth it.  Here goes:





Height is 5 11/16".  Width about 2 1/2"



Here it is, approx 6 inches from the wall.  As you can see the light is focused to a thin line.  No light dispersion.  Hopefully I can find an opaque white film to diffuse the light and see if it helps.



Here it is on top of a magazine.  You will only be able to read if it is right on top of your reading material.



Here's what the light looks like about 5 feet from the wall.  The line of light is even more noticeable, but you'll hardly see anything.

Have you tried the oil burning hurricane lamps from walmart. I bought 2 a while back for I think 6 bucks each. Try those out, a gallon of gas in those lamps goes a looooonngg way.
