High Capacity Magazines for Non- (or Retired) Law Enforcement in Hawaii (Read 1412 times)

What is the current status of civilians/non-law enforcement carrying/using high-capacity (i.e., over ten rounds) pistol magazines?   A while ago, employees at a local gun store advised that this may soon be allowed due to some kind of lawsuit.

On that note, are retired law enforcement currently prohibited from carrying/using high-capacity (i.e., over ten rounds) pistol magazines?  Similarly, if a retired law enforcement dismantles his/her LEO high-capacity magazines, is that legal/allowed, or is that still illegal?

It'll be a while.  Going to require the Supreme Court to rule on magazines or awb which is a ways down the road, at least one year mire likely a few years.  Or we win our butterfly knife appeal and get really lucky in court.

Must have valid LE powers in Hawaii to be exempt from the ammo ban.

Abbot vs. "Attorney General" is 1 of HI's lawsuits about this and is pending.

Retired LE are SOL and must have 10rd pistol mags.  A dismantled mag holds zero rounds.
