Koda farms says they stopped growing rice and somebody bought the business.
But they also said they will continue to sell mochi flour.
The obvious question is, "what are they selling and where is it coming from?"

FYI-
I went to Times supermarket and looked at the asian food section for mochiko yesterday.
There are about 3 or 4 different brands available....including the metal-flavored brand. 

Having said that, if you are an avid foodie, you know that when you change to a different brand of ingredient you need to re-test your recipe.

It's much the same as reloading ammo.
In fact, I was going to re-test some 45acp ammo with Bullseye powder because I have been using a very old can. (at least 30 yrs old)
I have a newer can (bottle) of BE powder about 10 yrs old. It would be interesting to see how much difference in accuracy and speed there is.
