Which FFL are you using? Fee?
« on: November 28, 2024, 11:17:29 PM »
What are current FFL fees?  Who are you folks using?

I know there was thread a few years ago but it must be pretty obsolete

I used to go thru Kaneohe Gun Shop but got lazy about making the drive.  Then was using another place near the police station but they closed down.

I’ve used DCT (Danger Close Tactical) a couple times now. Contact David, the info is on their website and social media. Easy, great service. IIRC, transfer fee was like $50 per firearm.

They do, but not like how DCT does.

I no longer shop based on price, but what they do for the cause. Stores that dont help, dont get a penny from us.

DCT owner volunteers for LIFE and HRA training, definitely worth supporting.

Thanks guys…. I’ll use DCT.  My friend uses DCT too….my friend is also an instructor with LIFE and HRA and had recommended DCT.

I had been sort of hesitant to use DCT because of the lack of parking.  I either parked at the credit union on Pauoa (after business hours) or Stuart would let me park in his driveway

I guess the walk is a bonus since I’m fat and need exercise

Thanks again !

I used dct for my last few firearms. he can also order stuff in, its worth asking before you order online. he can do galleryofguns too. from what I remember, all his stuff is priced well. he also does the forms electronically, which is nice because the forms will prepopulate with your info and you dont have to fill it out every time.

yes parking kinda sucks but ive never had any problem finding street parking nearby, only like 50 yards. just pretend you are putting up your target :)

i always park close by the "church"...Once had to park on a side street close to the Credit union.  and yes call him if you are interested in something sold out of he might not have.  He has done this for me in the past....His prices are usually good ...

DCT as well. Parking can be tough, but there’s usually decent spots available. As well as he and his staff can usually be found on the range most weekends.

I've used OGC a few times. fee is 41-something. last time I went through them, I was checking the tracking and it arrived at OGC and the next business day they called to tell me was ready for pickup

For DCT, I park street parking at the church. But do get lucky sometimes with in front his place.

OGC posted here that there is a reason why he doesn't get involved with firearm laws per his lawyer some years ago.  It was good of him to post about it, but doesn't mean I will spend money there.

I don't remember the post, but OGC was toward the bottom of my list of gun store 2a rights supporters.  There's a lot of ways stores can support the 2a...coming out, passing the word, volunteering, helping nonprofits, helping kids etc.  don't remember OGC doing any of those.

I don’t really care for OGC.  The owner doesn’t seem to treat his employees nicely in front of customers.

I felt bad for the employee.

Off topic.  I seen the OGC owner at the range once.   He was pretty terrible at pistols.   Worser than me.  I think he noticed people looking at his poor shooting / targets….seems like he packed up shortly after and left.  I assume he has some kind of condition (vision?  Hands?) that affects his shooting.

Still….at least he was hitting the target

I once saw a guy miss a cardboard target (about 24”x36”) at about 20ft with a shotgun…5x…in a row.  I thought maybe he had mistakenly shot at the next door target.  I turned to my friend standing in line for the next door target and he had the same look of disbelief.

I asked my friend did you see that too?  He goes yep…and my friend was also watching the next door target ….it only had 5 holes from the shooter in his line.

Soon afterwards the guy that missed the 5 shots packed up and left.

My friend and I were talking story with him before the HRA fun shoot started.  Nice guy.  I remember him saying he shot a 45acp pistol.   So I was thinking…”Hoo…he must be good….shoots 45”.  (I was/am a noob…I think I had an old/preowned Ruger P95 that my friend would kindly say had a POS trigger.  That Bastard)

I’m guessing it was the guy’s first time shooting his shotgun and he didn’t have a good cheek fit on his stock and couldn’t sight down the barrel properly….so his barrel was slightly canted up and he was shooting above the targets

You know the saying about no matter how good you think you are, there is someone better?

I realized that day no matter how lame I am, there is someone lamer.

That realization comes in handy when I’m at the aiea golf driving range and some skinny kid in middle school is just bombing away with his driver…..
