Thanks macsak for posting this!

There are a lot of great points made in this clip, that are directly relatable to our situation as people who also live "behind (way, way behind) enemy lines."

However, as last session showed, our community of champions of the Bill of Rights - is very large, and very fervent in our demand that the Second Amendment be fully respected in Hawaii.

We absolutely have the power to own this issue in our state!

We absolutely have the power to make the tyrannical left afraid of US on this issue!

They make the point well, that there is no debating the issue with the tyrannical left - or whatever you want to call them.  Rule of law, reason and debate - these mean absolutely NOTHING to these people, whatsoever.  They are on an ideological crusade to disarm citizens as means to the full establishment of their tyranny over these islands.

Force is the ONLY tool that works, and that was shown quite clearly to everyone last session.

So, concretely, throwing out a possible example of how we can strategically and systematically use our force in this field of battle, what if:

In every senate district, a group of us coordinate a visit to our Senator expressly to discuss our views on the issue as their constituents - five or six guys show up for a meeting.  We mention all the various shooting sports / hunting groups we're affiliated with.  Ask for the Senator's support for the rule of law - maybe lobby for something we'd like to see changed, etc.

I'm ignorant of the best timing for these, things - I just know it would have a MASSIVE impact on our power over this issue and our ability to protect our Bill of Rights.

What does this take?

Just minor organization among all our various groups / affiliations.

It's in our NOT organizing together that creates the easy opening for the Marxists to cut us off - they own the NGO's who lobby their own leftist legislators with leftist billionaire money - or worst case - our own money.

This is why I was thinking that Hawaii Firearms Coalition was perhaps an attempt at this kind of organizing - but again - I'm ignorant of the history.  Organizationally it seems moribund to me.

If that's perhaps part of the idea with it (as the name implies), why can't we reenergize it with volunteer effort?

I hope this thread generates so discussion - my idea is simple - what do people think - surely someone has a much better one.

Time is advancing to their next assault on us - they've already re-strategized based on last session.

They have already threatened those legislators who broke ranks and opposed yet another violation of the U.S. Constitution as step one to striking back.

We need to keep the momentum up in our favor!

Ok, awesome - I'm relieved, somewhat.

Who can I contact to led my support and participation to this effort?

Please tell me, as attempts to contact through the website info have not been responded to, etc.

If it's some sort of restricted thing, then someone please DM me about it!

Thanks!

Radio silence - what a surprise ...

Well, anyway, here's what I know:

1. When the SB401 Extinction Event went from not even in the stadium to the 10-yard line overnight, and Jon Abbott called for a rally at the capital, exactly 14 of us showed up.  Picture attached.

2. HIFICO is apparently Jon, and he's an awesome guy.  But he has a business, and children to be a father to, and he mentioned he needed someone to help with the lobbying, and I believe his efforts (and of course all those previously associated with HIFICO) to get this far deserve great respect and the honor of support, going forward, from others.

3. Narrowly escaping death on the field of battle is NOT winning.  Our opponents are great at organizing, they are, after all, the Borg.  Every time I ask where I can go / who to talk to, to lend my resources to our organized effort to counter these monsters - I get told to mind my own business, or just silence.  Clearly, there is no organized resistance on our part, so I'm done with looking for it - IT DOES NOT EXIST, so don't pretend otherwise.  Our constituency is essentially thousands of relatively disassociated believers, so our default strategy is to scramble to defend ourselves when our rights are assaulted.

If you disagree with anything I've said here, by all means, fall into my trap here, and prove me wrong by identifying for me such an organized effort, that I may lend my support to it.

Many thanks.

Thanks Mr.Jackson! - being painfully awkward socially, I have no social media accounts.

Though I've met him once at this little rally, I'm kind of reticent to contact him directly, given all the demands on his time, and out of respect for his privacy - but maybe I'll ask his business to do some electrical work, and use that opportunity to bring up the subject.

Have a good one!

You're on the right track.  HIFICO wasn't made to lead the 2a charge.  Rather it was to serve as an example of what could be done, educate others, and have other people and organizations do their own 2A projects and events.  The SB401 meet at the capitol was actually put together by the workers at Firearms International, which was in line with the goals of HIFICO and deserve the credit for preventing this bill from passing.

As you stated, getting local constituents from the district is very important.  Get together and have a meet and greet, dinner out or day at the range.  Learn from eachother.  Then go see your reps at the capitol.  If you can't see them there, call their office and see what events are coming up.  Townhall meetings, painting schools, trash pickup, etc and meet them there.

Some tips:

1.  Focus on people.  If you're not a people person, then force yourself to meet people.  This includes your opponents.  Network, build relationships and allies, maintain that.
2.  Educate yourself and others.  Most of your time will be spent learning.
3.  Stick with the 2A only.  Don't go into Republican v Democrat, abortion, immigration, etc
4.  Ask yourself what is the most you'll sacrifice from your life to fight for the 2A.
5.  Build credibility.  Be dependable and trustworthy.
6.  Don't take shortcuts.

Well, with outstanding guidance like this, I guess it's "put your money where your mouth is" time for me.

If I want to contribute to the effort, I should crawl out of my cave and do something, instead of expecting to just show up to something someone else worked to build, do my bit to make it go, and then go home, right?

Very humbling - many thanks zippz, for setting me straight - I greatly appreciate it.

This prescription has every appearance of making me a better person than I am now.

Many thanks!

There was 1 testifier who is very shy and uncomfortable speaking in front of people.  He showed up in person at a hearing (precovid so no zoom) having caught the bus all the way from Waianae.  As the hearings went on and years went on, he has improved big time.  Everyone starts from somewhere and verbal testimonies have more impact that written ones.  WHat you don't want to do is have regrets for not doing in person testimony if a anti 2a bill passes.  As in "man, I wish I spoke in person".

Many of the HIFICO volunteers have jobs and families.  When some anti gunner this past session said that we're being paid to lobby for gun rights, they're wrong.  None of us are being compensated, we do what we do because we value our right.

The anti 2a is more funded, which means they can afford to pay for "marketing" things.  If you look at the AG's website last year, the NRA has spent zero dollars in HI. Everytown spent like $20K as of May 2024 IIRC. 2025 isn't up yet.

You don't have to rely on any particular org to get he message across.  The coconut wireless is a very powerful tool.  Tell your 2a friends and have them tell their friends and so on.  I have about 5 guys who are bad with computers and dates.  So I call them to remind them when testimonies are due.  When you go out and have gun related conversations, bring up gun laws or if they've heard of HIFICO.  This ties into the above statement of not having any regrets.  "ah man, I wish I told more 2a people about X bill".

I overlooked this thread until now.

A benefit of an org is that they have the ability to reach many people.  Like when Firearms International posted about the rally, many showed up.   So have realistic expectations and start with what you're comfortable with.

Yeah, I'e been put in my place - whining about "where can I go to fight these f**&%^%'s" - when the correct answer is for me to get out with our community instead of lone wolfing it, as is my nature.  Kind of asinine, but that's me.

I've been a handgun shooter for decades up to now, so I'd just go to 808, etc. to practice.  Got an old friend to go for a while, but he dropped out.

However, as the tyranny has loomed larger I've acquired long guns to train with, most recently an M14 from James River Armory.  Holding that thing - well, seems like I was made for it rather than it for me.  Hard to explain.

Anyway, since I'm an ignorant sod, do you have any suggestions with respect to gun clubs that tend to emphasize rifle training in their activities, etc.?

Many thanks for the points you have shared!

You can also have a sit down with your lawmaker and explain how any bill or future laws affect you their constituent. Both my senate and house lawmakers ignore me.lol

Forgot to add, bring different people to the range to shoot for the first time.  Coworkers, friends, church people, etc.  Even invite your legislator and/or their staff.  The more anti-gun they are the better to bring them out.

They'll see it's fun and not an evil gun.  Get to meet other people at the range.

Well, on an individual basis, it probably helps to be a communist, but that doest’t appear to be an attractive option for you.

Another good idea.

But I’m really starting from the bottom here.

It took a full 12 years for my Shiba Inu to decide I was Ok, and now he can’t see me so good anymore…
