HB 417 looks interesting! ;)

Also, SB53!  Great step forward on the issue of self defense, and acknowledging the right of people to defend themselves against domestic violence.

You got some 2010 stuff in there too though.

Okay I've added some of these to the State Legislative Updates section of the forum so we can get updates as soon as their website updates. If there are any other bills out there that people find, please let me know so I can add those as well.

I really don't know how I feel about some of these bills.

The domestic violence victims can use stun guns provided they continually take a class. Great that they can use stun guns, not so great that they have to take a class and not so great that they have to be victims already.

Removing restrictions for retired police officers? Again, great for them...not so much for the normal joe.

I think it's such BS that the requirement for the stun gun is being a victim.

So basically, in order to be able to defend yourself, you're going to have been abused already. Way too reactive, and not proactive enough...  :grrr:

I agree.  But still, stun guns for some is better than stun guns for none.  I look at it as a "foot in the door" kind of bill for a greater push later.

Agreed, work can always be done at a later timeframe to change it to a general issuance.

We are hoping to push some of this stuff for this exact reason. Please push to assist DV victims getting their stun guns, and every other *pro* bill we have.

They will open the door and we will walk in!
