The best and brightest led lights are the Cree T6 XML lights.  They do take lipo batteries though so they are a bit harder to recharge (well not harder, just a bit more expensive and they a bit more dangerous then your average battery) but they are so much brighter then anything else out there that its a literal night and day difference.  The good thing is that they are dirt cheap and come with pretty good lenses now adays so there are no dead spots.  1000 lumens vs 200, once you go Cree T6 XML, you'll never go back!
