Slingshot vs. Power Stroking

Which techinque to you prefer when dealing with malfunctions and/or reloads?  I found I do both for some reason - when the gun is in battery I'll cycle it with the slingshot method, but when it's in slide locks back and I'm reloading I'll use either the release or power stroke it.

As a right hander I use the overhand (dislike the coined term powerstroke) technique for malfunction clearances.  For reloads I prefer a slide lock method as the release but will default to the overhand release as a secondary technique.

As a lefty I am OK with using the slingshot but still like to use the slide stop as a release when available.  I tend to use the slingshot for a secondary release method and for malfunctions, to keep them similar.

I tend to power stroke most of the time.  Its the way I train, practice and shoot.  It just feels more natural to me at this point.

IC - may I ask if you're naturally left handed and shoot left handed?

I am a right hander, but shoot left handed quite a bit.

Cool - I'm trying to get a sense of what others do, and what they find works for them.

with strong hand still on the pistol grip, I tap the magazine with weak hand (to ensure positive engagement), then I rack the slide with weak hand (slingshot), then pull trigger again..

from TacTv (Larry Vickers), he mentioned that power stroke (overhand) does not work well with the Beretta 92FS/M9 pistol because of the decocker.
