Skilled shooting by HPD
« on: November 03, 2009, 04:08:09 PM »
This just happened today, a driver tried to run over a police officer and ended up getting shot. The reason I say "skilled shooting" is because there were two other people in the car, neither of whom were shot. Good job HPD.

Police shot a 23-year-old man who they say attempted to run over officers with a suspected stolen car at the KFC restaurant in Waikele early Tuesday afternoon. The suspect was shot three times and was transported to the hospital in critical condition. One of the officers suffered serious injuries in the incident; another is reported to be in stable condition. The incident happened around 1:00 PM.

Officers surrounded the suspect vehicle at the KFC drive-through. When the suspect spotted the officers, he veered the vehicle towards the police, striking one of the officers and a police vehicle. An officer then fired on the suspect driver, striking him twice in the torso and once in the arm.

Two passengers in the vehicle, a 25-year-old female and a 25-year-old male were not seriously hurt and were taken to the Pearl City police station.

According to police, the car was stolen from a Pearl City neighborhood. The son of the vehicle's owner spotted three people getting into the vehicle. He pursued the vehicle and called police. He lost track of the vehicle on the H1 freeway, but plainclothes officers later spotted the vehicle at the Waikele KFC.

Police say the driver of the suspected stolen car will face first degree attempted murder charges. Investigators describe the driver as a known auto theft suspect. The passengers in the car will also face charges.

Good job on their part.  On a side note.  Have you ever thought of including an off firearms topic place to post?  eason being,  id like to know what came about the two idiots caught over in LV for possession and resisting arrest.  I hope to the man up above, if found guilty, they are terminated.

I hope the two officers are okay.  I know I won't shed a tear if the 23 year old suspect doesn't pull through.  A known car thief and an attempted cop killer?  The world will probably be better off without him.

I too pray for a quick recovery for the officers.  As far as the scumbag is concerned, it'll be a positive boost to my day for him not to make it.  My tax money pays for a lot of things I do not agree with, I dont need to pay for one more.
