ok so I got pins but no tumbler.... too anxious to see how it would turn out so I tried to tumble in Gatorade bottle and this is how black the water came out after 20 min of shaking with lemishine and dawn....

this brass was pre tumbled in corn cob and walnut....

that's a great idea! never thought of that, as mentioned good workout - or if you live on a hill just roll that sucker down and let gravity do its thing :geekdanc:

It was like that shake weight commercial, shaking that bottle violently is a good damn work out....

Finally the tumbler arrived.... 1 hr with dash of lemi shine and dawn... It came shiny, maybe another hour will shine up the insides better...

That turned out nice and clean.  Where did you get your SS pins/media?  What is the size?

Is it necessary to use lemi shine if you don't care much about brass being shiny? Is any benefit to brass being shiny other than aesthetics??

Got pins from bullseye reloading, can't remember the size but it's the newer one...

I tried without the lemi shine and it gets clean with the pins just not as shiney... No dust at all and 1/4 the sound.... If you run it longer it will clean the inside to a shine too, but I was impatient.

As far as being really shiney it's personal preference especially if you have OCD.

You can replace Lemi Shine with white vinegar, I've used both Lemi Shine and vinegar together or separate. Vinegar will get the brass just as shinny.
