 When: High Power Rifle Clinic 1300-1600 Friday 13 September 2013
   NRA 500 Aggregate Regional Championship 0645- 1300 Saturday 14 September 2013. NRA High Power Rifle Rules in effect
   CMP 500 Aggregate Regional Excellence in Competition Match 0645- 1300 Sunday 15 September 2013. CMP Service Rifle Rules in effect.
 Where:  Puuloa Range Training Facility, Ewa Beach, HI
Why:  To promote service rifle marksmanship excellence through organized competitions. 
Uniform: Joint Base Pearl Harbor/Hickam approved civilian wear or duty uniform. Boots or shoes, eye protection (any shade or prescription), and hearing protection mandatory. Civilian/Military uniform mixing not authorized.

Match Programs will be uploaded later this week.

Due to the overwhelming attendance during the other events we hosted. Participation will be limited Club Members, Military and Civilians on the Puuloa Rifle and Pistol Club wait list.

Greetings shooters,

The Puuloa Marines have offered to conduct a high power rifle training clinic for new and upcoming high power rifle shooters on Friday, 13 Sep. 2013 at Puuloa RTF.  Shooters wanting to attend the clinic on Friday should report to the range at 1200 hours.  This will be immediately followed up by the Hawaii State Regional 500 agg NRA approved match scheduled for Saturday, 14 September and a CMP EIC leg match scheduled for Sunday, 15 September (Please refer to the attached match programs for details).  Also, Saturday has been designated as a recreation fire day for any pistol shooters wanting attend.  Time for the pistol rec. fire is 0800 hours at Puuloa RTF.  Anyone interested should contact Jerry Yuen direct at j_teichi_y@hotmail.com so that he may have an idea of how many people are interested in attending the clinic and this weekends matches/rec fire.    We already have a number of shooters committed for this weekend so both matches are confirmed.  Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.

By popular demand, the any sights/any rifle class will be added. Scopes, red dot, and holographic sights are allowed in this class. Bipods can be attached to the rifle, but cannot be used for shooting. Caliber is limited to ballistic equivalent of US cal 30-06.
Muzzle brakes are prohibited for this match. Compensators and flash hiders must be GI type.

The NRA Regional will be a 800 point aggregate. the total round count will be 88 rounds with sighters. This will be an interesting event since 4 High Master Class Shooters will be competing.

No. NRA rules prohibit the use of muzzle brakes.

We only allow them during practice days.

Yes, during a match a break is distracting for others trying to gain points.  Also, all shooting is done prone, on the grass and dirt. Breaks will kick up dirt and debris all over.  Not cool.  Since 30-06 and under is allowed, breaks aren't necessary anyway.

I normally squad  the new guys with the strange guns on the of the right side line. The wind usually coming from 3 o'clock. the dust and debris is kept to a minimum.

This  was a epic day for Shooting at Puuloa. The best riflemen on the island gathered to shoot. Things went smoothly; no crossfires, no lost rounds, no boats in the impact area. Only 1 range alibi.  5 cleaned rapid fire strings. Try do this at 200 yards in the sitting position 10 rounds in 60 seconds with a magazine change

The Puuloa EIC Rifle Match that was scheduled for today was cancelled due to lack of eligible competitors. 13 Shooters checked in this morning. Only 5 were non-Distinguished. A practice 500 Aggregate was conducted instead. Shooters were allowed tactical rifles for this event.

The match will be rescheduled to a later date this calender year.
