Pretty sure Alaska Airlines allows up to 50lbs per passenger.

Alaska Airlines allows up to 50 lbs of ammunition in your checked bags.

United allows a max of 11 lbs, but in my last two trips, they didn't really check.  I believe that the gun case has an exemption on the 50 lbs limit, but I think it has to be less than 70 lbs.  I know on my last two trips the gun case was over 50 lbs on the way up since I had packed a bunch of ammo in there.  One trip I had 200 9 mm and 200 5.56 and this past trip I think I had 450 round of 9 mm. 

Just need to check with each airlines.  I've asked friends who visit from the mainland to bring ammo home for me and it's been fine.
