9mm bullet diameter.
« on: November 06, 2013, 05:47:54 PM »
Me again with a reload question. The quest for information and knowledge is endless right now for me.

Ok here goes. What bullet diameter is best for a Glock 9mm handgun? (.355, .356 or even .367??) I own a G17, would the recommended diameter size work well and safely with all Glock 9MM handguns?

I have a 17 Gen 2 and I shoot .355 bullets only out of it. They all shoot very well out of it. I have never tried any other diameter. For my 9mm revolvers I have loaded some lead bullets that are .356 and they don't group as well as the jacketed .355 bullets I reload. But I have to say I don't load the lead as hot as the jacketed bullets.

I hope this helps.

================
Industry standard is .355 for conventional FMJ or JHP for modern 9mm pistols.
I believe those Montana Gold heads are .355 and that is what many shooters use here and abroad.
Copper plated heads are .355 also.
Industry standard for 9mm lead heads is .356
What, Me Worry?

standard 9mm diameter is .355, but I would try .356 as well, and see which shoots more accurately.
