if you want to present your case against the range then be a man and show up to a hk board meeting or some other public forum(thats not virtual) and show these videos and explain how you truly feel.
dont hide behind a computer in a thinly veiled attempt to get us to take your side.

Nobody here is trying to deny that bullets can travel the distance involved, or that ricochets are dangerous.

That being said, I take issue with the fact that the pictures I saw of the round recovered in HK showed a scuffed, but intact bullet. Please take note of the second video you posted, the round shattered. this is what happens when a round encounters a solid object with 2700-3000 lbs ft. of energy. Even if the round ricochets, it will be distorted due to energy involved. With the exception of military rounds, modern bullets are built to expand on impact, increasing the size of the wound cavity and assuring a quick and humane kill on game animals. They do not show up 2400 yards downrange in virtually perfect condition after a ricochet. The round would have to be purposely shot over the mountain, which I have my doubts about considering the attentiveness of the RSO's at the range.

Thanks for playing.

A bullet that ricochets off a plate, or a stone, jumps at a 60 ( or more ) degree angle and goes 700 feet high and 2550 yards long without any distortion is purely magical.

No rifle bullets don't climb anything.
Guys and gals this is a very poor attempt to lure us into a situation where the poster will be construed as a victim.

:wtf:I have been shooting at KH rifle range for over 13 years.  Why is it that all of a sudden last year, it started raining bullets!
We had lots of steel at all distances with no ricochet problems.  Then we go to 100yds only and it's still raining bullets.
What is wrong with this picture? >:(

Look guys: these people don't care. You can repeat the same scientifically backed information over and over, and they will continue to ignore it. We can sit here all day arguing about this or that, but in the end nothing is going to change their opinion on the issue.

It's either Greg or his anal bead handler, so just let them spew their BS since they are just going to keep trolling the forum with idiotic info anyway.

All too true, but shouldn't it be "wrangler" rather than handler?  :P

I happened to run into a friend of the family about a week ago. He's been using the range for even longer as an avid hunter, and he said the exact same thing. Almost word for word.

We all know this is BS, we just have to get past this and remain more vigilant in the future. Sad, that in this country, we're going to have to defend our God given rights under the Constitution, from whiners that would enslave themselves.
