We're not happy with the present KHSC situation, but I would just be happy to have a place to shoot, even with limitations if that was my only venue.

Personally have never really seen the City act soooooooooo fast on any other issue/project and I doubt you have either.
This was/is dealing with an extremely controversial issue (firearms) yet the Mayor and crew have been coming thru for us !

But we've been saying for quite awhile 'Baby steps".
First fix any safety issue's that may be lacking, throw in our hand to help, show our gratitude, try it for awhile and then ask for the improvements we find lacking. (-100 yrds/100+ yrds).

I really view this as a stepping stone which has shown us, the shooting community, that the politicos are paying attention, hear our cry and desire our support .
And so I say to all.....
First of all, I would like to thank Mayor Caldwell for his concern regarding the safety issues here at KHSC and his immediate action in cooperation with Parks director Toni Robinson, to rectify these issues in a timely manner to re-open one of Hawaii's most used park facilities.
Their combined efforts have improved KHSC for all Hawaii's shooting sports enthusiast.
Senator Mike Gabbard, Senator Ihara and Senator Slom are three other such politician's I would like to thank.
Senator Ihara SB 2050 re: Firearms Registration waiting period which supports reasonable registration laws.
Mike Gabbard has just introduced bill SB2353 re: Lawful CCW and Senato Slom's bill SB2168 also re: CCW both of which support our American Constitution !
Though these bills may not be "perfect" as of yet, they are steps in the right direction by OUR POLITICIANS !
It is politician's like Caldwell, Ihar, Slom and Gabbard who have done well to recognize the many firearms sports enthusiast's here in Hawaii who REALLY appreciate their efforts and who will support these politicians future endeavors.
