It is my hope that this site gathers like minded trustworthy folks who will unite when disater strikes to assist each other with their variety of skills to weather out any storm that may occur.
Isn't that what its all about, strength in numbers ?
Yes indeed it would take a bit of time to organize relief efforts and yes ships would be bringing supplies, but we cannot discount that the US military has the ability to airlift and massive amounts of supplies if so directed.
I also agree with like minded individuals coming together to assist one another, we need to take into account the sheer amount of those who are not smart enough to prepare to weather the transition time and are going to be the ones who will heavily tax any relief efforts. As mentioned there are situations where even moderately prepared people will lose everything and have little options.
exactly
we have this forum, the get togethers, the range days, the waiting in line at hpd/gunshops
all to meet like minded individuals who can contribute a little bit

I fully support the idea of people being able to be self sufficient in times of disaster. It will make it easier on everyone, especially themselves.
Wow all nice points! I intended to check back in a bit when I posted this. I'm glad I got a little distracted. These are all spots I had had questions about.
I think Surf stated it's more about where WOULD you go instead of avoid. Well, I didn't wanna ask that just based on OPSEC. I am not going to disclose area I feel are safe for me and mine and I wouldn't ask any of you to disclose your safe areas either. So here we are with places to avoid.
Gas stations are a big one I forgot about, but I'm in a "half tank is empty" habit and think I'll be ok. What about military bases? I would think that I'd try to avoid those too.
Rocky, thanks for the link. I am now rearranging mine/my kids activities to accommodate some Sundays spent at some CERT training.
I am merely putting out more for discussion or more for people to think about and consider as opposed to asking anyone what their actual plans are or where would they physically relocate to. Contingencies and not placing all your eggs in one basket so to speak. If you live in a Tsunami zone, having everything at that location is not wise. As an example, no sense in storing food, water, fuel, etc, if you will only loose it in a Tsunami. I know others have touched on the concept, but being diverse, redundancy and contingencies are a good thing.
And I too would not disclose my own options.
