1911 Grip Screw torque specs

So I have an inch/lb torque wrench so I figure I'll use it if possible.  I can't find any info on how much to torque 1911 Grip Screws, anyone have any info?

I don't know which is more disconcerting, the fact that you would over tighten grip screws, or that you have that picture.......... :o

As tight as you can get by using the rim of a .45 ACP cartridge case as the screwdriver.

Most people don't realize that the original screw slots were "concave" at the bottom of the slot  to match the diameter of the .45 rim for this purpose.

Attached shows this part (#28) from the original 1911 blueprints.  You can see the arc in the side view at the top right of the dwg.

If you're worried about them backing out you could always use a little blue Loctite.

Another tip if they are getting loose is use an o-ring per screw. Google will tell you what size. Works perfect. You don't want to tighten them too much or you will just keep crushing the wood deeper and deeper (if they are wood)
