Nice setup. One of my 1200 mega pump impeller cover broke. So I replace a temp pump. Came home afterwork. Both 180 gal tub had 3 inch of water. All fish on their side and still alive. All of the babies got eaten up. Never again I'm going to plant 3 long squash plant. Roots clog tub, it's like a killer vine that goes everywhere. My advice is to keep extra impeller cover on hand.

This is my system. Solar powered. 2 180 gal tub. 1st long squash within a month. It suck up a lot of water.

What is and where did you get your solar powered pump ?

I went cheaper route.  Use reg (2) Danner pumps 1200 and 1800 gal , use charge controller, inverter, and 60 Watt solar panel.  I would go 60 watt panel or more. Takes me 2 days for full charge with 3 costco marine batteries.  On for 24 hour with no problem.  I was going to get a pool 12v solar  pump from R&R solar but cost alot.

Not what I wanted to hear.
Been looking for actual 12-24 DC powered pumps priced "with in reason" .
Might as well be looking for the Holy Grail.
Thanks any who !  :shaka:

Here's my lazy hydroponics.  >:D

3 peti pots in a 2-1/2 gal container filled with water and 1 t. hydro fertilizer.
Place newly sprouted palnts in peti pot with mulch/dirt.
Set it and forget it.

Good for small, low fast growing plants.
Great for really dry areas where you can bury the contaners to reduce evaporation.
Awesome for lettuce, spinach and the like.

Compare the plants in ground to those in buckets.
Same seeds and age.

haven't had rain, a real good soak, in a while, but lots of sun, leafy green produce farms may be hurting, so i ask how are your aquaponics systems fairing during this drought?
