This is the part I found interesting...

Quote
Seven private citizens applied for a license to carry a concealed firearm in public in Honolulu. All seven requests were denied by Honolulu Police Chief Louis M. Kealoha. On Kauai, Chief Darryl Perry approved its sole applicant.

I wonder where we can find the statistics for all the counties without doing a FOIA request

An informal FOIA request is pretty simple. You can just send an email to the respective police departments contact address and they're usually pretty friendly about giving it out. If they deny you, then you'd go the formal way, but they should have no reason to do as such.

Link to the report:

http://ag.hawaii.gov/cpja/files/2014/04/Firearm-Registrations-in-Hawaii-2013.pdf

Besides the permit issued in Kauai, I thought it was interesting that again the number of firearms registered have increased but crime has not...I know "we" all know this to be true, but the fact that they actually mentioned it in the AG's report is...interesting.

By comparison there were a  little more than 48K car registrations in 2013 according to the Hawaii Auto Dealers Assc. - let that factoid sink in.
No one is coming, it’s up to us.

Legislation should never be about depriving law abiding citizens of something, but rather taking those things away from criminals.

I'd rather not have to give birth to someone in order to get my CCW.   I simply don't have the pelvis for it so I'm told.

Rolando Sanchez Easier to get a GUN (weapon of death) than to get to drive and own a car and other life necessity things! - KHON's Facebook page.

I couldn't reply to him on FB for personal reasons so I'll respond here:  The last time I bought a car they didn't fingerprint me and send my particulars to the FBI to see if I was a criminal nor did they ask my Dr. if I was mentally unfit to own a firearm.  Plus, I've never had to wait 2+ hours to buy a car - in fact it was quite the opposite when I walked in to the dealership.  Plus, you didn't have to make a minimum of two trips to the DMV to register your car.

You have no idea.
At one point I had  four cars/trucks, a motorcycle, and a WW2 military trailer registered in my name.
The Stomper still lives. Hasn't been put to good use in a while....

Yeah, "packing heat" into a case, into a range bag, unloaded, locked in the trunk, keep your ammo separate. Hysteria ensues, because of the "high risk factor".   :shake:

I got into a heated argument once with Mrs Onodera.  I felt like I won the argument.  Shes a Toad.  Uses the same Anti-Gun arguments.  Doesn't care if the gun was legal or not.

Yeah that was pretty dramatic...I got a good laugh from it.
