From your personal experience....

I just tried Beef brisket w/ gravy and mash potatoes.
It was pretty good in my opinion.

Back in college I practically lived off MREs when money was tight. A and B menu from 2010. My all time faves are Chili mac, buffalo chicken, enchilada, and bbq pork patty.  And the lemon poppy seed pound cake is my absolute fav. Loads of preservatives I'm sure....lol.

My days were C-RATS and I didn't mind them because I was starving when I usually got to eat them. What I do recall is the fruitcake was terrible and everyone, including myself, loved the "John Wayne" bars. There was always trading amongst soldiers. I always traded my cigarettes as I didn't smoke but that fruitcake was nearly impossible to trade away.

Where to buy MREs?

This is a TO DO for preps that I have not yet ever done.

Costco used to have long term emergency food too if you're looking for stuff other than MREs.  I think it was mostly beans and grains though, but cost was lower.

Same here the vegetarian MREs are the better of the bunch, they also tend to the the better type of candy.  The worst MRE is the one with the egg in it, forgot the actual name of the MRE.

I don't have a favorite, but I do have a least favorite. That damn cheese and veggie omelette is the worst of the bunch IMO.

The Navy Commissary sells MRE's, the only problem is the case is open and you can't see the expiration date or manufacture date. The commissary sells them for $7.50 each.

there's a southwest chicken one that you can mix with the pouches of already cooked rice and stretch out to two meals +. Only problem is all the preservatives. My friend was joking they put enough chemicals to make you sterile and impotent so soldiers won't impregnate hookers and/or get frisky with each other.
I’m becoming clinically undepressed and thinking about beginning it all.
