Here's the Moms Demand Action Blah Blah Blah video advertisement that ostensibly supports the proposed legislation re "intimate partner violence" and "stalking" (be sure to read the definition of stalking*):
Comments disabled, of course. Summary: Man pounding on door, woman and child inside, she call 911 to report "ex" breaking in, and is asked (really?) by the 911 operator if she has a restraining order, woman answers "yes". [They must have edited out the part where the 911 operator then responds, "Well, then he shouldn't be doing that".] Man breaks through door, grabs child, pulls gun and points it at woman, scene fades to black as gunshot is heard. I'd think that's an advertisement for women arming themselves, as clearly 911 and law enforcement and the judicial system are woefully inadequate to protect people in most, or nearly all (99.99%?), such circumstances. But no, these morons people want another set of laws that would prevent this guy from doing what he was doing which was already illegal according to already existing laws. But I'm sure if they had one more set of laws to prohibit him from doing what he did he definitely would not break THOSE laws. Sure. Idiots. Ironically, these people lack the capacity for "common sense", a term that is a mantra for them.
*From Sen. Amy Klobucher’s “Protecting Domestic Violence and Stalking Victims Act.” From a letter sent out by the NRA: ""Under federal law, for example, stalking includes 'a course of conduct' that never involves any personal contact whatsoever, occurs wholly through the mail, online media, or telephone service, is undertaken with the intent to 'harass' and would be reasonably expected to cause (even if it doesn't succeed in causing) 'substantial emotional distress' to another person," the letter warns." So if you leave a comment on a website or blog or tweet that someone is a moron or idiot... you might be "stalking". Now THAT'S "common sense"!
