What are you prepping for this weekend?

OK, forget about overpriced water and expired MRE's.  What are you loading up for this weekend?

Me--every AR platform cleaned and oiled, every single magazine loaded with good ol' ball ammo.

1911 .45s stashed here and there with loaded mags, .38 J-frame loaded with FBI rounds in pocket at all times.

Sharpened every kitchen knife and a few Randall bowies.

Go-bag:  overnight toilet kit, meds for the week, 1911 in holster with extra mags and ammo, Randall Model 14 with diamond sharpening rod, flashlights, sewing kit, bandaids, couple bottles water and a few energy bars, lots of $20 bills.  Roll of duct tape, coil of baling wire, pliers, scfrewdrivers, hammer and socket set.  Machete strapped to packframe.  300 feet paracord in 100 foot hanks.  White terrycloth towels.  Couple of 5 gal buckets with lids in the car.  Tank's full, case of water in the trunk, 2-3 army blankets, 2 folding chairs, bag of charcoal and lighter fluid, hibachi grates, matches, Zippo lighter with spare flints and fuel, stogies,   Bottle of Jameson's, plastic cups, plastic bowls, wooden chopsticks.  Change of clothes, extra BVD's, socks, soap, bath towel, extra shoes and slippers.  Large blue tarp, box of garbage bags.   Box of vienna sausage, no MRE's--sold them all to aieahound a while ago.

I'm ready, how about you?

Added--large and small axes, Spetnaz shovel, fully charged screwgun and box of wood screws.  Don't got a chainsaw--damn, gotta get one ASAP.  Files and stones for sharpening stuff.

Nothing special.  Just made sure everything outside was secure.  I did clean out one of the garage stalls so I could put my new truck inside.  I also run generators and make sure the transfer is working correct.  Other than that my normal routine is pretty much on a set maintenance schedule as far as preparedness goes.  I don't really have anything special to do, it is a year round thing.

I left six 5 gal. buckets on my sidewalk since noon. They're almost full of rain water last I checked at 9. Lucked out. I wasn't planning on doing that.

Tacos. Several pounds of ground beef, browned with seasoning, diced tomatos, shredded cheddar, crispy shells. Fifteen dozen, wrapped in foil. I need nothing more for three months!

That's a good one. I will use that in the future and am going to write it down.

i liked walena's idea of leaving the 5 gal buckets out to catch rain
i guess as long as it's not too windy

Actually I forgot to bring them in when the rains hit.  It wasn't real windy then. When I remembered, I went out to check, and they were getting pretty full. I decided to leave them since I didn't want to be carrying them in the rain. This morning, they were full and still in place. The strongest gusts never moved them. I don't think I'll be doing it that way again without at least securing them in place.
