Bang, bang, ...click
« on: November 25, 2014, 01:19:23 AM »
Have you guys ever noticed in movies when they're shooting and run out of ammo, the gun goes click on the last trigger pull regardless of gun type? I always thought it was silly but just for dramatic effect. The worst is when the hero (or villain) is shooting a semi auto pistol and suddenly runs out of ammo, but continues to pull the trigger in disbelief, and the gun keeps clicking... Or maybe the worst is when it's a single action semi that keeps clicking..

You mean, yours doesn't do that?

Thought they all did, after all, liberals get all their firearms knowledge from movies.

Of all the movie inaccuracies regarding firearms, you're going to pick on "click?"  Personally, I love how any substance in a movie stops a bullet.  Sheetrock, empty 55 gallon drums (and why are there always piles of empty 55 gallon drums around?) car doors, trees...
The difference between theory and reality is that, in theory, there is no difference between theory and reality.

If those items did not stop bullets, there would be nobody left to finish the story.
Entertainment as we know it would cease to exist.

There appears to be another tube behind the optic just at the bottom of the pic.
Then there is that wire from the foregrip to ????
Also, what is that clip thing on the base of the mag?

I suppose that other tube is a night vision of some sort.  His character takes it off as daylight comes to the camp they're in.  I think that wire goes to the dbal mounted in front of the red dot.  Not sure what that clip is on the bottom of the mag.  Maybe it's a reminder to the prop guy that - "opposite end goes in the rifle"

The more I look at that pic, the more I think that big tube is a laser illuminator offset mounted.
I think the other tube is a scope of some sort mounted in line with the bbl.
That would explain the wire to the foregrip.

Well then, it's not a laser illuminator. I don't think they existed when that movie was made. Probably an old model laser device. That's why so big.
