It can't be real training.
They're not rolling on the ground and blowing darts.

I believe that was an intentional discharge to simulate firing upon the  aggressor he pushes away.

...
I was wondering about that shot into the ground.
Personally, I think it was an ad.
If those guys around him were aggressors, then he would be shooting them, not pushing.
I have a hard time believing any military or le instructor is going to condone firing what amounts to a warning shot.
It would be 1 round less available.to use against the real threat.

I meant the discharge was meant to represent shooting the assailant after pushing him back.
Live fire "kinda" inhibits you from actually shooting your training partner, but you want to psychologically  train to get the shot off and acknowledge 1 less in the mag.

gotcha.....close contact where the shove is to distract/give yourself space to employ the handgun.  I thought he might have gotten excited given the situation and uh.....let one off the chain.  Usually happens to older gentlemen, so I'm told.

In mother russia, hostages are a mere inconvenience when facing terrorists.  Best way to show the terrorists you mean business?  Shoot the hostages yourself.

Larry has commented that the discharge the weapon at the ground is to fend off the "hecklers" and / or to give them pause, or to re-evaluate if they should stop keep up with their poor behavior, lest a behavior modification via kinetics may follow up.  Yes a warning.  Sounds odd that a Russian super ninja might give someone a warning instead of just beheading them, but perhaps with that glasnost and all they got a bit more open minded, or more "transparent" as they say these days.
