“I didn’t even know it was possible to buy a machete online,” Terrance’s mother, Greta Price, told the Daily News. “I had no idea that it wasn’t considered a deadly weapon. It should be.”
“He’d still be alive today if it wasn’t for a machete.”
And thats where the snowball starts....tragedy indeed but victim's family and friends should look at the root cause of crime - humans
Yes, we all know that people kill people, not the various tools they use, BUT if they weren't allowed to possess the more lethal weapons (e.g. "assault weapons of war", "high capacity ammunition feeding devices", rifles with barrels under 16", machetes, hammers,
fists and feet, etc.) then those criminals could harm fewer people before victims could escape or thwart the criminal's continued violence. Thus the need to limit machetes to under 4" (with full registration, background check, fingerprinting, photographing, relinquishing of rights to privacy re all medical records, waiting period, etc.); screwdrivers, ice picks, kitchen knives, chisels, etc. to under 2"; hammers, garden tools, etc. to under 8 ounces, etc. No one needs a machete with a 12" or 18" blade, nor a six inch long kitchen knife or screwdriver or ice pick. All lethal tools outside the range of the new limits must be turned in, or face felony charges. This is merely common sense lethal tool safety regulation. It will save lives, and if it even saves one life it is worth it.
