Any of you guys do sound installs? Specifically a sub, and amp, and a capacitor. Thanks

if you got everything already, I can help you out.
Is this with a stock deck or aftermarket?

I could help next week. I use to work and own a strero shop.

You'll need all the wires and connectors

Ahh..I remember those big 1 farad capacitors were all the rage in the 90s when Richard Clark had his Grand National (bought from SpeakerWorks) and those big arse HLCDs under the dash. I jumped on that bandwagon but today I'm not convinced it adds any more dynamic response to a system.

Equipment. Yet to be purchased, but probably going to have to make a custom box

Personally id skip the capacitor, not worth it.
What kinda sub you getting?
What kinda amp?
You also gonna need wires, RCA cables, and possibly a converter for an amp since you have a stock deck

Oh and how much space max do you have for a box?
What kinda music will you listen to?
Do you want the box sealed or ported?

I listen to all kind of music, nothing too particular, but I do like to hear my lows.

nevermind, if you want lows you should go with a ported box.

Sealed gives a little better sub response, think like a kick drum on a drum set.
Ported is more like the bass guitar. Usually.

Yep in my younger years. Wanted to be an electrical engineer but alas lost my way as an Asian. Had a TBird with Image Dynamic horns under the dash, mids in the floor board, balanced lines etc. Wasted too much time & money on that dumb hobby. I fixed Ford and Chrysler radios in an electronics "sweat shop"  ;D

Before that ...

great memories but I should've applied myself towards academics more
so lesson learned kids...stay in school and get a degree as fast as you can..and if you're asian you owe it to your parents to be an engineer and/or doctor so you can be top ballah status like MacSak

Haha funny you should mention that ...the memories of B-Boying. Grew up in Kalihi so there were many silly "battles"
Remember the movie Beat Street playing in the Holiday Theater in the old Kam SHopping Center next to Longs. I remember the biggest crew then was Dynamic Floor Rockers and then you had the Foot Rock Bunch from Kauai made famous by Breakin' Hawaii hosted by the one and only Kamasami Kong!!! :shake:
That was the Golden Age of hip hop. Just plain fun. Planet Rock. Afrika Bambaataa. Soul Sonic. Zulu Nation.
