Online retailers shipping standard capacity mags to HI
« on: March 13, 2015, 11:12:38 AM »
does anybody know if brownells or other online retailers ship standard capacity mags to us? I just ordered some of the new m3 pmags in 25 round windowed and 20 round variety, and am hoping they actually ship them. Because for some reason the rest of the Union thinks they're banned here for some reason
I sure as hell don't need a permit to choose my religion, so why the hell do I need a permit to acquire a firearm?

While I hope they do ship them, don't be surprised if they don't. They are going to review Hawaii law relative to the issue of "high capacity" magazines with an eye to protecting themselves. Please review the multiple discussions here about the issue as there are good arguments to support an interpretation that most magazines over 10 rounds would be illegal in Hawaii.

They specify in their shipping info or on the product page on different sites.  Some say no standard cap mags, while others just say no handgun mags over 10 rounds, so rifle mags are fine.  It just depends on the company.  There are quite a bit that do, just some good ones don't.

As for rifle mags, some do, some don't.  Pistol mags, different story.

Brownell's will ship 30 rd ar mags here. Ive ordered fron them numerous of times. Handgun more than 10 rounds, nope. No one will. Other places that I've ordered ar mags from: lansbro armory, tradingplacepawn.com,  botach, primary arms. Lansbro by far has the cheapest prices for mags. In fact for pretty much anything.

Like the others have said above it's a crapshoot. Best thing is to ask that particular retailer if you can't find the info on their site. Generally if you can get it in the cart and pay for it should ship. I ordered some surplus steel 20 round HK G3/91 mags from Cheaper Than Dirt and wouldn't ship them here, they had to take a detour to my brother in Florida who sent them to me.

i "heard" that certain online shops, if you "accidentally" order standard capacity handgun mags, they "accidentally" ship them to you
of course, no one on this forum does anything illegal, so i am not sure if what i am hearing is true

Its funny, Sports Authority "accidentally" included a Pmag30 with the m&p 15 I bought there. "shady"

I while back Botach told me they couldn't send 30rd AR mags to HI.  I replied only Pistols are limited to 10 rd but I understood if they didn't want to, they said it'll be shipped next business day .  Sometimes talking to them helps.

I bought standard 30 round AR magazines from palmetto state armory.  At first they sent me a rejection email on the 10 round magazine cap, but corrected themselves shortly after.
