Viper PST 2.5-10x32 FFP on scar 17s

is anybody running this optic on their scar or any of their rifles? I'm seriously considering picking one up, as with vortex' military discount it's only 5 bills and some change and has all the features I want in a scope. They also offer the same 2.5-10x scope in second focal plane, with an objective size of 44mm, what does the difference in objective size cause? Just gathers light better? I know how to use the acog I'm issued, and is a very handy and simple scope to use,but I really think the 17s can benefit from a variable optic more than a fixed power optic. I appreciate all the input, as I'm just now learning about variable power optics. Also, does anybody know if there is anybody who can cerakote my rifle and optic like this? The kryptek pattern looks amazing!!
I sure as hell don't need a permit to choose my religion, so why the hell do I need a permit to acquire a firearm?

im not to keen on front focal vs second focal. But as for you objective you correct the bigger the objective the more light it gathers so u can see more when it gets darker. What size tube is the scope. 1", 30mm, 34mm? From what ive read on the forum think 338kid would be the guy to ask about scopes.
Im a recoil junkie

It's a 30 mm tube I'm pretty darn sure and alright hopefully he sees this thread and drops a comment or two, that'd help a bunch.

first focal plane scopes are better imo, as you adjust the magnification the recticle will as well, thats less to worry about then having to redo your calculations when using second focal plane where your variable magnification changes but your mil dots or cross hairs etc.. doesn't change so you gotta do some calculations, this is more for long range precision though

I got one on my tikka atm. Nice optic for the price  and you can not beat thier customer service. It isnt as bright as my  NF but what can you expect out of a 32mm.  Overall im happy with it.
