Rock/brass tumbler...harbor freight..

Harbor freight has the dual rock tumbler on sale for $44 plus you can use the 20% off coupon during the checkout.  I used the cheapest shipping and it took about 2 weeks to arrive.

Just my review.  I'm new to reloading but after looking online and watching a bunch of different videos I figured why not try wet tumbling since everyone says it the way to go.  I know you cant tumble a large amount at once but not a big concern.

I bought stainless media on ebay 2.5lbs, lemon shine from safeway (was on sale also) and dish soap.

I put about 1lb stainless media in each drum, filled brass a little more than 2/3 fill, and added water, lemon shine and a drop of soap.  About 1hr or so later.  The brass looks brand new.

I removed the lid and ran water to clean out the drum then dumped the content in a bucket which I put a regular screen over (2x) to caught the brass and media.  Ran water to get media out of brass and throw the brass on a towel to dry.

So far I'm very happy with the purchase, and happy I went this route.  I can post pictures tomorrow.  Hopefully this helps someone on the fence.  Youtube has good videos also.   :shaka:

I was curious, so here is the website...

http://www.harborfreight.com/dual-drum-rotary-rock-tumbler-67632.html

It's $45 + $16 shipping to Waipahu

It's a little small but ok for small batches.
What, Me Worry?

I use a dry media tumbler but am looking to actually build a wet tumbler instead of buying one. There are a couple of DIY videos on Younoob that I've seen and it looks simple enough to do using a clothes dryer or printer motor or something similar. Making stuff for the cost of almost nothing is what I really enjoy about this hobby.

Here's some pictures.   I did look into making my own, but I figured I would try the harbor freight tumbler since it was pretty cheap.  Don't forget you can use the 20-25% off coupon on checkout.   The stainless media should last a very long time also.

I use a universal de-capping die then wet tumble for about 2.5 hours. Brass comes out sparkling clean inside and out and primer pockets are cleaned too.
I can run about 300 cases of 9mm or 200  45acp at one time.
