I just heard about this whole "Jade Helm 15" military training "exercise" and I gotta say some of the conspiracy theories surrounding  it are interesting to say the least!

So I have my own ideas about what's going on but I'm curious what my fellow 2a'ers thoughts are on it. Is it really just a training exercise, is it the beginning of Marshall Law or is it a cover up for something and possibly an actual mission.....what are your thoughts??

Don't believe the kool-aid, much of the controversy comes from people like Alex Jones over at Info Wars.

I second the ignoring of Alex Jones. I don't hate the guy but he knows his audience and knows how to stir them up.

Troops used to train in the woods but since most fighting is urban now, they have to train appropriately. Although there have been several research papers and theses about "right wing extremists/terrorists" rising up, I don't believe that will happen anytime soon. And as we all know, the home grown terrorists are almost always muslim and of the rest, most are left wing occupy types. All I have seen of the right wing militia types is standing around with guns and signs peacefully protesting the BLM and maybe making threats that they likely wouldn't back up. I guess my point is that there are dumba$$ liberals that think gun owners are all crazy but these exercises aren't related.

I just found out about it recently and was doing some research on this just now, apparently its suppose to be a psy op to get people use to seeing militarization and martial law, for most part how you see police and what not people are starting to accept it as a norm. I don't lean to any particular side, as i find it hard to believe that our own troops would be used against us, at the same time nothings impossible, there's videos of blackhawks and apaches flying over houses in Texas and what not, they labeled Texas as a hostile area (conspiracy is that cause its pro gun with alot of gun owners) they're dropping special operations out of helis and practicing night raids or snatch and grabs. some sound really far fetch seeing as I don't believe any special forces would turn their guns on the very people they swore to protect, but i'll keep in open mind, alot of fear mongering... one thing for sure though is we are losing our freedoms for the sake of "security"

No you didn't do any "research" you read stuff from the internet and other questionable sources. Whats your hypothesis? Data collected? Can you validate your sources? Reading crap from the internet is not research.

Ya, I'm definitely not buying into the conspiracy hype and what not....definitely loving the feedback and opinions on the topic though! 

When I heard about this training exercise the first thing that came to mind was all these bullshit ISIS punks making threats to bring violence to American soil. I definitely don't want to be ignorant, or too cocky, to realize/admit that they could do it! I mean they have the means to.....it could happen. So why not train for it, and where better to do such a thing than in the states mentioned?!

Maybe I'm thinking too much, and maybe I'm way off......but either way I'm ok with our military training and bettering themselves for any altercation that could take place on American soil. We need to be pro-active and we need to protect America and our citizens. I remember hearing all kinds of people saying "bring our troops home, guard our borders....make America safer"! Well guess what, this could very well be an attempt at making our states safer and people are getting all worked up about it! Oh well, I'll keep an eye on it and see how it unfolds, pretty sure nothing will come of it and it will be done before we know it.

My son saw this leaving the Federal Building and rolling through the streets of Boise, Idaho a few months ago. Now WTF does DHS need an armored in Boise for? Hmmmm
