HKVP9 barrel???
« on: August 11, 2015, 07:17:54 PM »
Pretty sure the VP9 has the same polygonal rifling that Glock has for it's barrels. My question is (perhaps rhetorical) should I not shoot lead cast bullets from my VP9 just the same as I don't from my Glock 17? If the consensus is to not shoot lead cast from a stock HK VP9 are there any after market barrels on the market available yet?

it has polygonal rifling
so technically, you are not supposed to shoot cast lead

no aftermarket lands/grooves barrels yet

At $240, I think you would have to shoot approximately 12,000 lead bullets to recoup the cost of the bbl.

No kidding.  It's just about half the price of the entire gun.

I frequent the hk search on ebay. Seen people selling their factory barrels to recoup some funds for the threaded barrels. Seen one never been fired or so he claimed go for 80 bucks. wouldnt ship it to hawaii. couldnt bid it. Others are selling them in the 200 range. Waiting for another one for 80 bucks to pop up again. lol.

That sounds sketchy.  No one is going to sell their new $200+ barrel for $80 and then not allow someone to bid who wants to buy it.

I understand that.  No one is selling their (according to the seller) brand new/hardly used oem barrel for $80.
