Demise of he NRA

The "minorities" mentioned are the very ones that should support the NRA and it's state's affiliates.

The Anti 2A laws they "support" will be used to enslave them.

They have Failed to learn from History.

Wow, first thing off the bat this article insults everyone one of us:

"The core of the NRA’s support comes from white, rural and relatively less educated voters."

Guess I am relatively less educated?

I think there are way more stereotypes in this report than facts.

"Less educated" Whites support the NRA?    I don't think so.  Since we are using stereotypes:  less educated usually results (on average) in less disposable income.  Hence, less money to support the NRA.

Perhaps the individual member numbers are closer to their "theory", but there are many "Well Educated" people of all races who send in more than the $25-$35 annual dues.  My daughters are life members, and I'm at the Lifetime Endowment level.

I find their lack of reporting on the various membership levels disturbing.

Agreed. This report is very misleading. It's funny that most of the immigrants that I know are 2A supporters.

That's the big problem with their polling.  They say minorities are the largest supporters of strict gun laws.

"Strict gun laws" is a broad category.  It doesn't mention AW Bans, background checks, criminal prosecutions for gun-related crimes including straw purchases, etc.   As far as we know, anyone who thinks gang bangers should be treated as the criminals they are would qualify as "supporters of strict gun laws."

In gang-infested urban areas, I bet the number of people calling for more gun laws would drop if they were educated on just how ineffective those laws are.  Unfortunately, they follow the emotional call for getting "guns off the streets," which is a pipe dream.

What many people don't realize is that it is all coming down; we have peaked as the dominant society in the world, and thanks to the same type of asshats that want to dismantle the NRA, our entire country is going to collapse.

It's only a matter of time.

Men In Black II Trivia:

"J's line on the "driver airbag" ("Actually it came with a black dude, but he kept getting pulled over.") was improvised by Will Smith.
The producers liked it so much it even made the theatrical trailer. Barry Sonnenfeld however was not happy, it was played over
and over in the month of June prior to the film's release, making the joke old and tired by the time people saw it in the movie."

What scares them the most is the fact the NRA consists of mostly free citizens, not a few elite billionaires.

What will cause NRA's demise is those irritating phone calls. Half joking, but none the less irritating.   I know of a few people that are all for 2a and firearms,  yet they are no longer members because of the constant harassment.

Sounds more like an excuse than a reason.

I don't recall ever getting a phone call from the NRA I am not sure if I gave them my phone number either though. Now emails I get plenty from them. I think a member can manage there contact methods online.

Well let's put it this way.  Only less educated, gullible and weak minded people read WAPO.  This is the kind of personality that let Adolph rise to lead Germany.

Not saying it's right or wrong, just pointing out it's irritating.  I also wonder if it's a scam call, not even affiliated with the NRA.

Q: How can I reduce the amount of mail I receive from the NRA?
A: Simply email us at membership@nrahq.org or dial 800-NRA-3888 and request to be placed on the "Do Not Promote" list.
This will significantly reduce the amount of mail you receive without affecting important mailings, magazine service, or your membership renewal.

Someone should call that out for racism. If anyone had used a similarly worded statement about a minority on another topic, they would claim racism.

I used to get calls from them literally every other day; completely ridiculous.

It wasn't the asking for donations that got me; it was the fact that they kept asking for more donations, right after I just donated the day before.

I ended up blocking numbers from that region.

I see online it's not a common problem, but they do seem to have pockets in places that get hammered by the telemarketers they hire.

Ever since I became a life member, I've gotten maybe 4-5 mailings per year, and a phone call around the month before an election.  That's besides the magazines.

By the way, if you were ever wondering which NRA magazine to choose, it doesn't matter.  The contents of both are 80-90% identical :)  .

Hey, maybe you should get a life membership, just to see if that stops their soliciting?

I have to admit, I dumped my NRA membership because of them, and they still kept calling........

But, when I got my pistol instructor certification there was a discount if I was a member, so I joined up again. During the phone application process the woman that was helping me asked if I would prefer not to receive these calls. I chose not to, and I haven't gotten a call from them since.

If the calls bother you as much as they did me, I strongly urge you to call and "opt out" of the solicitation calls. The NRA is our strongest ally in the fight against those that would usurp our 2A rights.
