Is it true that you can loosen your barrel by changing muzzle devices on an AR-15 ? ( flash hider, comp, brake etc)

difficult to do with the pin in the barrel extension but I've read about some experiences where some have sheared it off or distorted the receiver. I haven't tried it myself.
When changing muzzle devices always clamp the barrel portion closest to the muzzle and not just the receiver. You could also use the Geiselle reaction rod or Magpuls Bevblok thingy where it holds the barrel by its extension.

Never seen it but I've "heard" it has happened where the barrel loosened in the extension.  In which case it must not have been installed and torqued properly.
I was planning on using a strap wrench on the barrel next time I swap a muzzle device.

Changed muzzle devices more than a few times and I never even thought about it until I read about some instances recently.

Never had a problem though.
Strap wrench from now on I guess.

Magpul bevblok is pretty good. Kind of hard to justify the cost of it and the wrench if only using once though.

Ren recommendation is the correct way to go about it. Be block or the reaction rod. Or just buy varmint barrel and no need bother. Lol
