That reflects the high level of training our law enforcement people have. ::)

Believe they described it as misfired  not a negligent discharge as reserved for us subjects.
So much for antis always claiming that they are highly trained and we are not.   The gun fired by itself, again.
Could have been tragic, then HI would have tried to sue Glock or the ammo maker.

Ah yes, those "highly trained" cops, that the liberals say should be the only ones allowed to be armed.

Funny how they seem to be the ones shooting themselves or others accidentally, so often...............

Wonder how often an alcohol blood test is run after one of the  "accidents"?  Oh, that's right, they be cops, no need for that stuff.

I still don't understand how you would accidentally fire your weapon while cleaning ???

Sure you can.  Rack slide, drop magazine, fire to free the striker. bang.   (just to be clear, the procedure should be : drop mag, rack slide, check chamber, pull trigger to free striker and disassemble).

You cannot accidentally discharge your weapon.  You CAN negligently discharge your weapon (ie fail to ensure the weapon is free from ammunition in the chamber).   This is no accident, just as it is no accident they fail to allow citizens to exercise their rights to carry for self defense.

That is called a negligent discharge.

An accident is something out of the operators control, which basically doesn't exist.

The individual handling the firearm should have ensured that the weapon was clear before even handling the firearm in the manner that he did.

I will never understand this.

The single most important step in cleaning your firearm is making sure it's not loaded. When loading the firearm the single most important step is KEEP YOUR FINGER OFF THE TRIGGER.

Simple, basic, firearm safety.

Basically Glocks need the trigger pressed in order to disassemble them.  NDs come up once in a while with Glocks durring cleaning.

I have a Glock and a ND will never happen with a proper chamber and magazine check.  ND result from lack of proper training and/or stupidity.  Some people are too stupid to be handling a firearm no matter how much training they receive.  A surprising amount of these people are legally permitted to carry a gun, while many of us who spend a lot of time and  money on training and practice are not allowed to carry because we would be a "danger" to the public.

Only if you are incompetent.
ND is failure to follow protocol and can happen with any firearm, not just Glocks.

That is also why Andy only gave him one bullet!!!

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barney_Fife

"One major comedic source is Barney's lack of ability with a firearm. After numerous misfires (usually a Colt .38 caliber revolver), Andy restricts Barney to carrying only one bullet in his shirt pocket, "in case of an emergency." However, the bullet always seems to find its way back into the gun, where Barney accidentally shoots it, usually into the floor, the ceiling, or his own gun holster. The accidental discharge of Barney's gun becomes a running gag."
