At my polling/caucus location there were about 60 people in line when the doors opened at 6 PM. I noticed almost all were geezers. I looked around for who appeared to me to be the youngest person in line and said "You appear to be the youngest person here and excuse me, but you're not all that young". He said, "Yeah, I'm 43. You'd think the young people would be the first ones here". Not a good sign. Or maybe I just live in Geezerville (but it was an elementary school... I doubt the geezers I saw were the parents of the 6 and 7 year-olds that go to that school...).

Took 30-40 minutes at mine.  Saw a long line and was surprised that that many Rs were there... maybe people are fed up.

Like punaperson, majority were geezers and old ladies.  A few 20 somethings were there but they were there with their parents.
I think, therefore I am armed.

No line at mine but steady trickle of all ages. Took me more time to find the right room, had some adult education(?) classes going on.

I just got home from the Kaneohe one. The line was long, wrapped all the way around the building. Probably over 600 feet long when I got there, and it got longer while I was there. Seemed to stay that long till about 7:30. Probably a bigger turnout than they expected. Really excited to see the turnout. I didn't see any vocal trump supporters.

The line was fairly diverse. Probably a bit over represented by white people but there was a healthy mix. Even saw 2 black people!

Kalani HS was crowded little after 6pm also think they had a B-ball game in the gym.   Took about  1hr. from time arrived to getting home.  Bad weather with lots of branches on road.
Just had to show DL and fill out GOP card.

The county by county results, updated as they come in, are here: http://www.politico.com/2016-election/results/map/president/hawaii

Early results (9:15 PM) show trump with substantial leads in all counties...

Also, although I didn't see the rear bumper of every car in the parking lot (some had backed into their space) mine was the only one with a "Impeach Obama" bumper sticker (and it's getting pretty well worn after 5 years).  :geekdanc:

Got to Kailua elementary at 1930, thinking no one would be there... Boy was I wrong.

Line wrapped all the way around the building Kama probably 2/3 of the entire perimeter of the cafeteria.

Many different age groups, many different demographics.

Most people said that they had no idea that today was the voting day for the primaries... Many said that it is likely due to information suppression by the Press so no one turns out.

Many people were angry that there weren't more polling stations on the windward side, with the next closest polling stations being in Kaneohe and Hawaii Kai. They also think that the Republican party of Hawaii was not expecting such a huge turnout.

Most frequent phrase I heard tonight: " I didn't even know we had this many Republicans in Hawaii..."

Ran into Mr. Gerwig, who informed me that he met with the Senate chairs today to see if HRA could defeat some of the bills that are making their way to the floor. He said that we have no chance of defeating them in the house, so the Senate is a last resort.

Out at approximately 2030.

I have a feeling that this was the largest turnout for the Republican party of Hawaii in a very long time.

Hawaii Trumped.

Ok now let's turn HI red state. Get your buddies on mail voting. Lowest friction. See other link I posted. Super easy.

According to the numbers there were about 12,000 votes. Is it just me or does that seem a bit low? I think there must have been 1,000 in Kaneohe alone, I would expect a lot more people given the reports of other stations being crowded as well.

I am surprised/disappointed Trump got so many votes in Hawaii.

One thing that irritated me was that there appeared to be no absentee voting. The lady handing out ballots seemed to indicate that the only way to vote was to be in person. What about someone working those hours? What about deployed military personnel?
I wonder if the law allowing people time off to vote covers caucuses.

See my post on the turnout here compared to Idaho, and who those who turned out voted for. For some reason, despite several threads here being about the primary election, it has been moved to"Off Topic":

You are surprised because you do not feel, as many of us do, that the USA is going to shit and extreme measures need to be taken to roll back the extreme damage.

This is not a criticism of you. It is just explaining the different viewpoint. And it looks like more people are thinking this (given Trump's lead nationwide).
