The biggest NRA Board of Directors issue this past vote was the attempted recall of Grover Norquist (who reps the U.S. Chamber of Commerce ("We like cheap labor") in supporting "amnesty" for the 11-20 million illegal aliens who would vote against gun rights by at least 70%).

Here is a video of a board member (former Texas Ranger Joaquin Jackson) stating that civilians ought not be allowed "assault weapons" and that magazines should be limited to five (5) rounds. Because... "hunting". Or something. Yeah, the video is from 2007, but the guy is still on the board and there no indication that he has changed his views.

I'm not a big fan of more than several NRA policies and practices...

No, not at all. He's definitely an outlier, but it points to the issue of how board members are selected and the structure of the rules so that it's very difficult to remove a person once they're there. Kind of like the legislature.
