Paul McHugh, MD, is University Distinguished Service Professor of Psychiatry at Johns Hopkins Medical School and the former psychiatrist in chief at Johns Hopkins Hospital.   

He writes what we pretty much know that transgenderism is a mental disorder.

It is doing much damage to families, adolescents, and children and should be confronted as an opinion without biological foundation wherever it emerges.

He will go out of business because the LGBT community will boycott his ass and regulate him out of existence.
Then we will live in a Chocolate Factory utopia.

I don't believe in psychiatry or mental disorders to begin with, so I disagree with him in that sense, but we all have free speech and it's nice to see someone who disagrees with the current trend.

Homosexuality used to be an official mental disorder in America until just a couple decades ago, too. The reversal of that classification was purely the result of public opinion.

I don't have anything against gays or weirdos, they can do whatever they want as long as they don't bother me. They don't need "treatment" as far as I'm concerned. However, I don't think they should be allowed to demand that other people accommodate their weirdness. You are still the gender you were born, no matter what. Unless maybe science evolves further and we can do brain transplants or some other method.

You are absolutely wrong.

It is firmly established it was a result of political pressure and agitation from homosexual groups. 

Ya that's exactly what I meant. I just wasn't being specific whose opinion it was. Never meant to imply it was majority opinion. 

It's a better use of time an energy to use the tools they gave us to push forward national concealed carry reciprocity. If someone wants to identify as a female I'll gladly go along with it if it means I can carry. Will make that trade any day of the week.

The problem now is that even if we get reciprocity we'll probably still have to register in a criminal database. Maybe the LGBT movement has a solution for that as well. After all they don't want to have to register in a database to use a bathroom, right?
