here's the latest update,

My Florida CCW was issued today (checked online) and it says to allow 7-10 days for it to be printed and mailed.  Today makes 80 days since I mailed it in.
Still waiting for my Nevada CCW, they have up to 120 days to issue so I probably have another month to wait.

Here's another data point for you.  I took the Front Sight training, and applied for NV CCW in Nye County.  Sheriff office said they were pretty busy, so don't expect it too soon.

I applied on 5/25.  Permit was issued 6/17 & arrived this week on 6/20.  27 days!  I guess Nye Co is way less busy than Clark Co.

They also did the extra fingerprint card for FL for $10.  I guess Clark Co gets a higher volume and passes the savings on to the public!  :D

Final Update:
I received my Nevada CCW in the mail today, exactly 106 days since I had applied in person at the LVMPD.

Mike,
Did you have to do anything special to bring your own sig to NV?

I'm going in November and thinking of taking the CCW class from Frank Obert.  He was recommended by Battlefield LV where we shot at in July.

I flew on Hawaiian Air, other airline's requirements may vary.

Hawaiian Air says they require advanced notice if you're traveling with a firearm so I called them about a week before my trip.

Firearm has to be in a hard sided case and locked.  I put my P226 in a Pelican Case.  Locked with NON TSA locks.
I put the Pelican Case inside of a small suitcase so it wasn't so obvious, and locked it with NON TSA locks as well.
I didn't take ammo with me but made sure I had extra room to bring back some ammo.. You're allowed to pack 11 pounds of ammo per passenger.

At the check-in counter tell the agent you need to declare a firearm.  She'll give you an orange card that you sign stating that the firearm is unloaded, and place the card inside the suitcase.
The agent just looked to make sure the firearm was locked in a hard case, I never had to open it and show clear or anything like that.

Basically the same procedure on the return.  I wasn't clear if I could pack ammo in the same suitcase so to avoid any problems, I packed the ammo separately with my clothes.

Hope that helps.   :shaka:

I got my Nevada CW card in last week, and applied for it at the beginning of July.  I took my class at American Shooters which gave a good class.  They had to drop a couple of people from the class.  One woman never shot a gun before which was apparent when she didn't know how to uncase her gun and show clear on the firing line.  The other guy goes full gangster and pulls out a loaded revolver from his jacket pocket, no holster or anything.  Couldn't understand english and was very unsafe on the firing line.
