I only loaded 77 gr. SMK in .223 so far.   As far as crimp or no, I run the round thru a Lee FCD after seating the bullet.  I have it set for a light crimp which leave a slight groove/line just below the case mouth.  Used this with and without cannelure bullets.
Crimp is not required but that's what I do.  Use a RCBS single stage.
Good deal on the already swaged, trimmed brass.   I trim manually with a Wilson and takes some time.

I finally got my Redding seating die today but the shell plate must have fallen out of one of the three holes in the box, USPS via Richmond California :(. I'll see if WGS has one later this week. I have CCI small rifle primers, Sierra 69 gr. HPBT bullets, and H4895 powder. Hodgdon site has the starting load at 24 grains and max at 26.0C . . . what's 0C? Should I start with 24.0 grains or a little higher? As I posted earlier these will be for an AR, 24" Wylde bull barrel 1-8 twist.

26.0C - C means the 26.0 grains of powder will be compressed by the bullet when seating.

24 point zero grains Compressed.  4895 is a ball powder - if you use a stick powder like 4064 you'll hear crunching sounds as you seat the bullet.

Kaleo, PM sent! I need brass.

Hi Dog Man.

The brass at the show was all deprimed, swaged to remove the crimp, trimmed to 1.750” +/- .001”, and sized.  Let us know if we can help further.

Also, a pretty awesome website we've found dedicated to everything reloading is Reloader's Nest.  Their forum section is filled with questions/answers, advice etc on reloading.

Thanks , I googled .0C and got all kind of technical information on many other subjects. There is still a lot of information on the Hodgdon site I need to read. I wish there were more hours in a day.

Oops...sorry... correction... shell holder must have fallen out of one of the three holes in the box. Emailed Brownells and they apologized and a new one is on it's way.

FYI, we're going to need to see groups out of that bad boy.  :shaka: :shaka:
I finally got around to shooting the reloaded Kaleo Arms Brass using Sierra Matchking 69 gr. HPBT with H4895, six of each with 24gr, 24.5 gr. 25 gr. and 25.5 gr. no crimp. Sighted in at 50 yards with Rem .223 then took it out to 100 yards. Sighted in and got more comfortable with the rifle with more Rem .223 55 gr FMJ. Coach Slick was assisting ;) . The ammo all went boom, the shooter has room for  improvement.

After settling on a load, you can start playing with bullet seating depth.

Actually 24.5, 25, and 25.5 appear to have the same point of impact (center of group)amongst the spread.  I'd go with 25 and play with seating depth .010" at a time and see if you bring the group in tight.

Start at mag length and bring it down .010 or or even .005 at a time.  Continue to watch for pressure signs.
