^ That was one of my first questions:
Me?
My Browser?
You?
I'm going to assume it's my browser (IE) and probably just type out "degrees."
Thing is, early on when I first joined here, I found a significant anomoly in the way pics were represented, and 2aHawaii fixed it.
However, if everything in the world were perfect, this would be Heaven, and we all know it ain't Heaven.
Must be a new change in my browser, because I just noticed that Heavies' sig line now shows up with those little squares, where previously it was clearly readable --
see attachment below. I just ran Malwarebytes and Trend House Call (free versions) and they both came back clean for viruses, spybots, and key loggers.
One significant variable is that I recently (Wed, 23 Nov) got off the 28.8K dial-up connection and went to a high speed (1.5MB) connection. On the other hand, Microsoft has been known to screw up stuff there was nothing wrong with, when "correcting" another bug. I've had a lot of automatic Error Reports sent back to them, and maybe their attempts to fix those screwed something else up. I don't think I can use system restore to backtrack because I only recently went to the high speed connection, and don't think I've established a known restore point where "The Little Square" problem did not exist. But I'll check that out.
Anyhow, bear with me. I suspect the problem lies in a recent update from microsoft. Might as well blame them, right?
You guys have really helped. I
really appreciate it!
ETA: Earliest restore point is Thur, Thanksgiving day, 24 Nov, the day after I got the new connection. I just noticed that new updates are available. Maybe I'll try it. Thing is, on the slower 28.8K connection, I rarely updated because the downloads took so long. With the new high speed connection, I've been updating regularly.
Maybe I'll just quit updating again. Most things were OK until I downloaded all the updates.
